Evening EMT Class Offered

Sun, Aug 3rd, 2014

Hocking College School of Public Safety Services will offer an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class beginning August 25 from 6-10 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings during autumn semester.

The 150-hour class will qualify students to take the National Registry Exam and receive their State of Ohio EMT card. The course teaches EMT students about basic medical and trauma interventions including CPR, bleeding control, oxygen administration and patient transportation. Students planning to enroll in the class will pay for tuition, books and uniform.

Hocking College also offers different levels of fire training at a certificate level, as well as a degree program. In the future, the college plans to offer various types of Emergency Medical Services and Fire classes in the evening in order to meet the needs of non-traditional students.

Contact Betty Dalton at 740.753.6451 or daltonb@hocking.edu for more information about the EMT class.
