Position Information

This is a 9-month full-time bargaining unit position.

Under the direct supervision of the Dean of Allied Health the successful candidate will: Provide leadership and perform necessary functions in the development and effective operation of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program, in accordance with all rules and regulations of governing bodies; Maintain program accreditation through the Commission On Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE); Develop and maintain policies affecting the PTA program; Provide student instruction and participate in the evaluation of student progress; Collaborate with faculty and the academic coordinator of clinical education  to develop, monitor and refine program curricula and clinical learning experiences; Prepare reports as required; Recommend expenditures for the program and oversees facilities and equipment needs; Maintain current knowledge of rules and regulations governing the program; Facilitate meetings of the program’s advisory board; Perform academic advising and program recruitment activities; Engage in continuous professional development in both teaching and discipline – specific theory and practice; Participate in unit activities; Participate in Academic Affairs and other institutional activities; Maintain a safe work area.

Position Requirements
  • Physical  Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Licensure in the state of Ohio as a Physical Therapist or Licensure Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Ohio
  • Program Coordinator position requires a minimum of a masters degree in Physical Therapy or other  related discipline
  • Previous teaching experience and experience in curriculum design
  • Minimum 5 years  clinical experience that includes  experience in PT /PTA relationships
  • Experience in administration, fiscal and human resource management
  • Strong communication , organization, interpersonal, problem solving and advising skills
  • Current knowledge in computer skills
  • Current in contemporary physical therapy practice, active involvement with the American Physical Therapy Association  (APTA) and  other professional activities
