Hocking College Fitness Management program will host two athletic competitions, the Second Annual Hocking College Triathlon and the Eleventh Annual Weightlifting Competition.

The Second Annual Hocking College Triathlon will take place on November 16, 2013 at 8 a.m. The event will be held indoors at the Student Center and include a 20-minute swim, a 20-minute bike route and finish with a 20-minute run.

The triathlon entry fee is $15 for Hocking students, alumni or staff and $20 for non-students. Free t-shirts will be provided for those who register before or on October 21, 2013.

The event is estimated to have an hour and a half completion time.

The triathlon will feature a staggered start with a new group starting every 30 minutes. The event staff request that contestants arrive 15-30 minutes prior to their event to warm up. Contestants should bring water, towel, swimsuit and change of clothes. Deluxe Ribbons will be given to the top three placers (male and female). High quality medals will be given to the top three overall winners (male and female). Age groups will be determined after the registration deadline to ensure equal distribution of groups.

The Fitness Management program will also host the Eleventh Annual Weightlifting Competition on Thursday, November 7 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center Multiplex. This competition is open to all Hocking College students and staff. Contestants are evaluated on the following three events: bench press, squat and dead lift. Scores are based on relative body weight (lifted weight divided by body-weight). Weigh-ins will take place from 4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Entry fee will be $10 and will have to be paid at the time of registration. Anyone that wants a t-shirt will have to turn in their registration form by October 21, 2013. Prizes are given to the top three placers in both male and female categories. In addition, the highest individual lift for each event will receive an award.
