On Thursday, October 30, the Athenian Berean Community Players will open their production of "Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage" at Stuart's Opera House, featuring a Hocking College student and a Hocking College instructor.

The show's author describes "Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage" as "a smart black comedy and 'B' western horror flick for the stage."  Hocking College Forest Management student Jackson Savage portrays world champion rodeo rider, Rob Bob Silverado, whose worldview is shaped by his passion for old western films and the code of the old West. Hocking College psychology instructor Kate Enger plays hall of fame rodeo champion Big 8.

Live gunfire and simulated blood make "Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage" the perfect adult Halloween treat. The show is directed by Gary Molina and is sponsored by the Rocky Outdoor Gear Store. It runs for four performances only, starting at 8 p.m. on October 30, 31, and November 1, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 2. Advance sale tickets are $10; tickets bought at the door are $12; and student tickets are $7. Tickets are available from the Stuart's Opera House ticket office at 740.753.2034 and www.stuartsoperahouse.org.
