On Thursday, November 20, the Logan Education Association presented the Citizen for Education awarded to Neil Hinton, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, and the Hocking College Logan Campus.

The award is presented each year at the Educators Hall of Fame reception during American Education Week to the nominee who has made significant contributions to the educational system of the Logan-Hocking School District.

Hinton was nominated by colleagues to receive this award for his work organizing field trips with the third grade class at Green Elementary that educated the kids with hands-on experience about alternative energies. Hocking College has partnered with Green Elementary for the last three years, allowing students to see the process of collecting and utilizing different energy sources.
