Hocking College today announced it is offering additional fall 2015 classes that begin October 19. These classes include natural resources classes open to the public, a degree program in Health Information Management, and the new Jump Start program, which encourages adults who have not attended college to explore career opportunities.
Natural Resources Classes
Beginning October 19, the School of Natural Resources will hold eight-week classes in Natural Resources Management, Ecotourism and Adventure Travel, Forestry, Natural Resources Law Enforcement, and Landscape Management. These classes are open to the public and are offered at the main campus in Nelsonville.
Associate of Applied Science in Medical Records/Health Information Management Degree Program
Hocking College is offering eight-week modular courses that will prepare students to become Registered Health Information Technicians (RHITs). Positions held by RHITs are ranked by health care facilities as among the five positions in greatest demand. Classes begin October 19 at the Nelsonville campus.
Jump Start
Jump Start is a new eight-week course in career exploration offered Free of charge. Adults who have not attended college will be introduced to the wide variety of careers for which they can prepare at Hocking College, while also learning about the programs available to help them be successful students.
Jump Start will meet weekly starting October 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Hocking College Nelsonville campus. Students who complete the course and enroll for spring semester will be awarded a scholarship for one three-credit course.
