Associate of Arts
ProgramThe curriculum for the Associate of Arts (AA) degree, grounded in the traditional liberal arts, prepares students to enter a broad variety of bachelor's degree majors, and provides students with skills that employers want most, such as proficiency in decision-making and problem-solving, oral and written communication skills, quantitative reasoning ability, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and the capacity to understand and use different modes of reasoning. The Associate of Arts degree is an affordable option for students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions after completing the first two years of study at Hocking College. The degree enables students to fulfill the undergraduate general education requirements of most four-year degree programs and is also recommended for students who have not yet decided the field they will enter or the four-year institution they will attend. Program OutcomesThe Associate of Arts is a customized program designed to meet the career goals of the individual student.
