When Hocking graduate Kelly Harnett reached out to Dean of Natural Resources, Larry Coon and faculty member Cheryl Mollohan about creating a memorial on campus, the idea for the SSG Curtis "Moose" Oakes Veterans' Memorial Garden was born. Between that fall day and the September 24 garden dedication, many hours of hard work were contributed to memorialize this Hocking alumni and fallen hero.

Kyle and Rachel Stierwalt, Hocking College Culinary and Baking program grads, launched their own catering business in June 2011. The Stierwalts opened Daley Catering LLC and operate their business out of the Fremont Federation of Women's building on Court Street in their hometown of Fremont.

Bob Baughman, Hocking College graduate and former Hocking College instructor, has been a proud Athens County resident since the early 70s. Baughman stayed in the Athens County after attending Hocking College earning a degree in forestry.

Hocking College graduate Tina McCall '08 was recently honored with the Administrative Professional of the Year Award. The Fairfield County of Commerce presented this award to McCall where she is now employed at Business System Solutions in Lancaster.
