Hocking College faculty and staff were recognized for excellence on Monday, September 19, 2011. They could be nominated for one of three awards including the Excellence in Service Award, Excellence in Instruction Award and Curtis Miles Service Award. Congratulations to the faculty and staff who have earned the following awards:

Excellence in Instruction Award Winners

Tony Camechis
Tony has a wide breath of experience in Law Enforcement and shares his knowledge and experience with his students. Tony is an outstanding role model for his students.

Jeff Daubenmire
Jeff's relentless work in and beyond the classroom helps develop and encourage both aptitude and confidence in his students through mentorship and by providing practical experience in both the performance and supportive roles.

Scott Mong
Scott truly cares about his students and their dreams of becoming professional firefighters. Scott has developed a successful cohort class along with Kathy Pittman, a communications instructor, to help struggling students. Scott works tirelessly with adjunct professors to make sure everyone, from student to instructor, can be triumphant.

Gus Morris
Gus works with his students to direct them to the right answer. He is an incredible teacher who has improved the education experience of those who have gone through his classes. He wants to see the students succeed.

Troy Thompson
Troy goes out of his way to assist his students. He is not afraid to give his students his cell phone number so they can access him anytime.

Excellence in Service Award Winners

Ed Loudermilk
Ed always does the job right. He takes great pride in his work and loves to share his knowledge. He always takes the time to answer questions and is liked by all.

Mindy Roggow
Mindy goes above and beyond her job by being selflessly committed to solving problems. Her top two priorities are always: What is best for the student, and what is best for the college?

Clayton Tigner
Clayton is very detail oriented and organized while performing his maintenance and housekeeping duties at the Logan Campus. He is committed to the campus and always makes sure it looks clean and new. Clayton always goes the extra mile.

Curtis Miles Service Award

Larry Hatem
Larry is known for giving back to his community, his church and the Hocking College community.  Larry has spearheaded picnics for the 'behind the scenes' employees at Hocking, including housekeeping, dining hall employees, maintenance, grounds and admissions. Larry is also involved with the fire department in New Lexington, active in his church and a sponsor of little league sports. Larry is a firm believer in giving back and teaches it in his classes and throughout his daily life.
