Students at Hocking College Logan Campus have embarked upon two community service projects aimed at assisting needy children and families in Hocking County this holiday season.  Members of Beta Sigma Omega chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society have organized a toy collection and food drive in partnership with local businesses and organizations.

The toy collection has been organized to benefit the Hocking County Toys to Share program.  In addition to the campus, collection boxes can be found at Dollar General (both Logan Locations), Logan Antique Mall, Lancaster Sales, Logan-Hocking County Public Library, and Hometown Hobby.  Members of the community are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy and place it in the collection boxes at one of these retailers.  Toys will be collected until December 14.

Members of the Honor Society have also partnered with the Southeastern Ohio Regional Food Center to organize a food drive to benefit the Food Center and Hocking County.  Community members are encouraged to bring a food donation to the Food Center on Saturday, December 10 from 10 am to 2 pm.  Student members of the Honor Society as well as Food Center employees and other volunteers will be on hand to accept donations.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is the official honor society of two-year colleges.  It provides for development and recognition of students through academic, leadership, and service programs.
