Don Wood, president of the Hocking College Foundation board, was recognized as one of the Top 10 Athens County volunteers making an impact on the community for his involvement with ACEnet in the Athens News "2012 Annual Manual."

ACEnet operates three facilities to assist entrepreneurs: the Athens Business Incubation Center, the Food Manufacturing and Commercial Kitchen Facility and the Nelsonville Incubation.  The organization offers office and manufacturing space for below market rates.  ACEnet also makes available specialty equipment and services, as well as venture loans and e-commerce.

Wood is Board Chair of ACEnet, and Chief Chair of its sister loan organization, ACEnet Ventures.  Angie Hawk Maiden, CEO and president of both organizations, nominated him.  Maiden said Wood is always eager to help out and can lend practical knowledge and help others starting a business due to his experiences as owner of Don Wood Automotive.

According to the article, Wood said he was excited to be chosen for the list but was happier to have the chance to increase exposure for ACEnet.
