Join the Be The Match Registry by  getting swabbed at a Marrow Donor Registry Drive on Friday, September 12, 2014, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Ed Map office in Nelsonville.

Michael “Max” Mark of Ed Map was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in June. He has completed his chemotherapy and is on the path to recovery. The next step his doctors have prescribed is a bone marrow transplant, but so far no perfect match for Mark has been found.

Supporters of Mark have joined forces with Be The Match, a national marrow donor program, to host a bone marrow drive to collect a cheek swab from participants. The drive will be held Friday, September 12, from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., at ED MAP’s headquarters at 296 Harper St., Nelsonville. Please contact ED MAP’s Stacie Rainey at srainey@edmap.com withe any questions about the drive.

Registering with Be The Match to be a potential donor does not necessarily mean your marrow will be given to Mark. By getting swabbed, your sample is placed into a national bank that is searched every 24 hours for a possible match for patients across the United States. Learn more at bethematch.org.
