Hocking College recently sent a team of five Culinary Arts students to the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Northeast Regional Conference in Verona, New York from March 17-20. During the conference, the team participated in the ACF Knowledge Bowl, a competition much like Jeopardy where participants are quizzed on culinary terms, history, classical methods of cooking, science of ingredients and ingredient identification.

Team coach Chef Katie McGushin led the team to place second out of nine teams in the regional finals. This is the first team from Hocking College to compete in 10 years. The first place winners were last year's first prize team, but Hocking gave them a run for their money.

Congratulations to team captain Warren Usher, and team members Whitney Lumley, Kristen Herbst, Patraphol Wisuthimarkul and Abigail Cole!
