Through the Perkins Grant process, Hocking College's School of Nursing has received the funding to purchase equipment for the proposed Nursing Simulation Lab that is in development.

Two SimPad System 12" Patient Monitors were purchased that are compatible with the nursing lab's two medium-fidelity manikins. Simulation engages the learner in an active form of thinking and providing care to patients in the safety of a laboratory setting allowing practice of skills and clinical reasoning without risk to the patient.

This project aligns with Hocking College Strategic Plan by providing broad and innovative options to help the student achieve positive learning outcomes and meet their educational goals.

The Carl D. Perkins Mini-Grant funded 34 grants to faculty and staff, totaling approximately $138,000. Recipients received individual $5,000 mini-grants for projects emphasizing student learning and success. Applicants were required to complete paperwork detailing necessary supplies and budget for their project.
