Hocking College will be sponsoring The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), an innovative program that educates local middle and high school students how to be a young entrepreneur.

According to the Logan Daily, the YEA! program will be at Logan High School this fall with the college's investment of $5,000. This new program trains students between ages 11 and 18 how to launch and develop a real business or social movement over the course of an academic year. By the end of the year, students own and operate fully formed and functioning businesses, which may be carried on after the program's graduation.

"Hocking College is delighted to become a sponsor of this great initiative. The Logan-Hocking Chamber of Commerce and the Logan-Hocking School District are one of three districts in the entire state to receive funding for this effort, and the college recognizes its important role in supporting small business development in the region,"  Dr. Ron Erickson, Hocking College President, said. "We look forward to collaborating with YEA! in helping to make the dream of business ownership come true for students enrolled in this program."
